As much as we don’t want to start thinking about the Fall at the end of August, it’s… well.. a reality and Fall is one of the busiest seasons of the year. If you wait until September to start thinking, planning and organizing your Fall PR schedule you’ve already missed valuable time spent on sending out the fall releases!
Here are four tips to help you prepare for Fall, before summer is over…
1) Get your press releases written and prepared for September
Start to think about which products you want to feature. Which home decor or gift products are relevant for journalists during the Fall & Winter season? Start to think about angles– Back to school, Thanksgiving and Christmas press releases.
2) Update your website to include your Press Loft press office
If journalists happen to be on your site you want to make sure they can link back to your online image library so they can download your images for their features right away.
3) Work out a PR schedule
Now that your press room and press releases are in order, it’s time to think about timing.
When do you want to send out your press release? If you have more Thanksgiving and Christmas products it’s good to start thinking about sending those press releases asap as they would be long leads (3-4 months).
A little forward planning and organization goes a long way!
