Our BrightonSEO April 2025 Recap

Earlier this month, the Press Loft team headed back to Brighton to take on the latest edition of the world’s biggest (and best) search marketing conference, BrightonSEO! Thankfully this time luck was on our side weather-wise, giving us our first real taste of the summer sunshine and providing the perfect backdrop for two jam-packed days of learning, networking and reconnecting with some familiar faces.

What makes BrightonSEO so special?

With experts flying in from across the globe to share their latest insights, it’s no wonder BrightonSEO has become the go-to event for digital marketers, PR pros, and content specialists alike. Whether you’re refining your SEO skills, navigating the rise of AI in content, or finding smarter ways to get products in front of the right audiences, there’s always something new to learn.

While we didn’t get a chance to sit in on as many talks this time round (the joys of a busy stand!), we’ll be diving into the recordings over the next little while to catch up on all the sessions we missed!

Co-hosting the Interiors & Design roundtable with Livingetc

One of the highlights of the event? Our founder Nikki Snell co-hosted an Interiors & Design roundtable alongside Livingetc’s Executive Editor, Pip Rich. The session brought together a fantastic mix of brands, agencies, and media to discuss:

🛋️ The evolving role of influencer marketing in the interiors space
📈 How top-tier media coverage can elevate both visibility and SEO
🤖 The growing influence of AI in PR and digital marketing – and how brands can experiment without losing the human touch

It was a lively, collaborative conversation, full of shared insights and real-world strategies from across the industry. We loved being part of it!

Nikki’s first solo BrightonSEO talk!

Later that day, Nikki took to the main stage for her first-ever solo talk at BrightonSEO – and over 600 people turned up to hear it! Her session focused on the often-overlooked power of product photography when it comes to driving media coverage that can support and boost SEO results.

Here’s a quick snapshot of the top takeaways from her talk:

  • Cut-out images should be instantly recognisable and crystal clear
  • Invest in lifestyle imagery – but keep it realistic (editors don’t want to see a mattress in a field!)
  • AI tools are improving fast, but they’re not ready to replace photography just yet – background swaps can work in a pinch though
  • Seasonal styling is key to making your imagery feel timely and media-ready
  • Editors want options – always include a variety of shots
  • Use low-res images for cold pitches, but always link to high-res versions they can download quickly

It was such a proud moment for the team – and Nikki absolutely nailed it 💫

(If you weren’t able to check it out in person, we have a webinar version available to watch in our video library here!)

The best part? The people.

BrightonSEO isn’t just about the talks – it’s the people who make the event what it is. From quick chats at the stand to evening drinks and sun-soaked seaside strolls, we met so many brilliant individuals doing exciting work across PR, SEO, content, and beyond. The community spirit is what really sets BrightonSEO apart, and it’s why we always look forward to coming back.

Until next time!

Massive thanks to the BrightonSEO organisers, fellow speakers, and everyone who stopped by to say hello. We had such a great time – and we’re already looking ahead to the next show!

See you again soon, Brighton 👋
